Four Wallpapers
Hello everyone. I was going through some of my old photographs over the weekend and decided to make a few wallpapers. They're nothing fancy, mainly because I wanted to let the photos speak for themselves. All photographs are mine, which means that I hold full copyright of these. In other words, please, please, please don't make me come persecute you. :s

800 x 600 + 1024 x 768
1280 x 960 + 1280 x 1024
1600 x 1200 + 1920 x 1200

800 x 600 + 1024 x 768
1280 x 960 + 1280 x 1024
1600 x 1200 + 1920 x 1200

800 x 600 + 1024 x 768
1280 x 960 + 1280 x 1024
1600 x 1200 + 1920 x 1200

800 x 600 + 1024 x 768
1280 x 960 + 1280 x 1024
1600 x 1200 + 1920 x 1200

Wallpapers are for personal use. If there's anything else you're dying to do with them, please ask me first. Thanks and enjoy! :D

Hey, I used to live near Delft :)

Beautiful.

Just realized you're majoring in aerospace engineering... Is that why you were in Delft? My dad taught some aerospace engineering courses at Delft University (post-grad courses, mostly).

Actually, I lived in Düsseldorf, Germany during most of high school. I'm in college now, majoring in aerospace engineering. I didn't know that Delft had any aerospace program there, but I'm very glad to hear it! I'm looking around for grad schools right now, and no one can tell me much of anything about good places to go overseas for something like aerospace.

No one can tell me much of anything about good places to go overseas for something like aerospace.

I don't mean to so rudely butt in, but... I could, quite possibly :)

My dad's a well-established name in the aerospace engineering sphere (he worked for ESA/ESTEC for nearly 30 years, and 5 years at SES-Global in Luxembourg. He's semi-retired now, working as a consultant with various gov't agencies & companies) and still occasionally lectures/teaches at various institutions. I quickly asked him for a list of universities in Europe for aerospace engineering (and was rewarded by a rather odd look, as I'm notorious for my disassociation with anything remotely related to engineering. I'm more of a humanities person. It breaks his heart, he he).

I assume you tend to gravitate more towards the space aspect of the aerospace engineering? If not, please excuse all of the following. Just a few schools you may want to keep in mind, as recommended by my father:

- International Space University in Strasbourg (courses in English)
- Delft University (English and occasionally Dutch. You may want to research that)
- University of Surrey (also has an independent company that launches its own satellites. Nifty. This site has some more links to UK universities, although I'm told the U. of Surrey is one of the best in the field.)
- Und angenommen du fließend Deutsch in Wort und Schrift beherrscht... Die TU Berlin und die Universität Stuttgart...

Viel Glück!

I haven't totally decided what field I'll go into. When I was younger, I always figured that I'd go into the space portion, but nowadays I find myself quite intrigued by experimental aerodynamics. We shall see. I've really only had two proper aerospace courses thus far.

Ich spreche Deutsch nicht wie einen Mutterspracher, aber ich kann die Sprache ziemlich gut. Kompetent, vielleicht?

I can't thank you enough for this! I'll certainly keep this advice in mind over the next six months as I look for and apply to grad programs. If there's anything I can do for you in return, please let me know! :-D

They're gorgeous! I'm using the first one. And can I just say, THANK YOU for making wallpapers larger than 1024x768! I've been looking for 1280x1024 for ages -- you're the first person to actually make one!

You're very much welcome! I've a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 (bizarre, I know) myself, so all my wallpapers get made for that size and then redesigned for the smaller ones. If you're looking for a few more 1280 x 1024, I've a slew of them her :-)

Trust me, being able to put them in black and white and crop them a bit (thank you Photoshop) helps enormously. They're not nearly as nice without.

We've established time and time again that I don't write poetry well nor do I write as well as you. Also, I can't sing. I am a terrible singer.

I'm going to have to start flipping coins to decide what I'm switching to after I'm finished with my canal houses. (That photograph, incidentally, is one that I've been staring at, on and off, for years now.)

wow...just...wow. These are truly pieces of art.

First, you are a great photographer. Truly.

Second, you're definitely right. The photos truly speak for themselves, and I think that the simpler, the better with this set.

Lastly, I'm jealous as hell. I've only been out of the country once.

*blushes* Mostly, it helped to have excellent subjects... and then, of course, Photoshop to make all mistakes better.

I've got another wallpaper like this of Cleveland that I need to finish and get up here. I've been having some difficulties with the name, hmm.

I lived in Germany for two-and-a-half years, so most of the excitement of my life thus far centers around my travels in that time ;-)
