So, apparently I lied in that last post. Or maybe not since I haven't posted any graphics of any kind for more than a year. Strangely enough, I still get comments here from people taking icons, and that makes me smile. I just don't take this all that seriously anymore, but knowing that people enjoy what I do makes me happy.
In any case, it seems that the way to get me to make icons again is to post some lovely photos from David Cleary. These icons are all from his photos and include stills from the new independent film "Once" by John Carney and assorted photos of The Frames from over the years. Enjoy!

You won't know what hit your screen when I get done tonight. I have icons for Kingdom of Heaven, The Lion in Winter (the original one), The Hours, and Mozilla Firefox. Underneath this cut, there are 82 icons awaiting you. But, first, an important announcement:
The days of this journal are limited. I don't plan to delete it, however, I don't intend to update it either. Never fear! There will still be icons, wallpapers, journal headers, tutorials--all the stuff you've come to expect from me. Actually, there will be more than just that. I've opened my design blog up and am using it as a general blog, where I'll still have a good emphasis on graphics and web-design. The blog has been moved to here, and I encourage you to check it out "in person" at least once because... um, it has pretty pictures and I spent lots of time designing the templates. If you don't like simply handing its RSS feed to your news aggregator of choice, ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) trygve has created your solution: gnomeblog. It's currently showing the wrong feed, but LJ is fixing that as I type, so don't worry.

I'm curious to know what kind of icons you all would like to see. I have a pretty large DVD collection, and I don't mind going out to look for caps of subjects that I like. But we both benefit if the subject I'm iconing (iconifying?) is one that you'd like to see. So comment with ideas of icon topics. Think there needs to be more Princess Bride? Rufus? Casablanca? Bush-bashing? Something completely different? Tell me. I don't guarantee that I'll make icons on the subject you suggest, but I'm certainly open to suggestions.
Also, I need ideas for subjects to post on in my design blog; so if there's something that you're curious about, a technique or what not, comment here and I'll see what I can do.
By the way, the friends list has been updated (and mutualized, heh), and this post is friends-only as something of a reward to those of you who watch this place.

I'm a sucker for this musical, and, although I still hold the musical very dear in my heart, I think highly of the movie as well. You'll have a pretty clear idea who I like best when you look at the icons.

I'm happy to announce that after a near-all-nighter Gnomicons is up and running! There may be a couple of minor issues in positioning and style-rendering between browsers, but nothing that should prevent anyone from using the site. I'm going to post a selection of the new icons here, but, for the rest of it including a new wallpaper and four new sets of Photoshop brushes, you're going to have to go to the site! (hint hint)

This semester is kicking my ass.
But every year at my uni starts with a screening of Casablanca, and, because it's one of the best movies ever made in my book, I have a few icons. And why aren't movie stars today gorgeous like Ingrid Bergman?

Gnomicons has been updated! Yes, I hear you all screaming, "Finally!"> There are new icons there that haven't been posted here as well as two completely new wallpapers: one of the band Coldplay and one of Michael Phelps.
Here's a list of some of the all-new icons (FYI: not all the icons on the site page(s) are new). I hope you'll all forgive me for being so tired of typing code that I don't retype everything here...

Consider this post a massive dump of some of the things I've been doing in my utterly non-existent free time. I really am very sorry that the promised brushes have not been put up, and nor has my site been updated. I had part of it done, but then I realized that I just need to recode the whole thing from scratch, and I haven't had near enough time for that. And I won't until my summer class is over at the very least.
But my arm got twisted, so I'm sticking these up. Here we have icons from (in no particular order): Lord of the Rings, Troy, Wizard of Oz, Spiderman 2, Bend It Like Beckham, Daria, Shrek 2, and Gladiator. What's more and what I find far cooler, are the miscellaneous icons, which have everything from Writer!Pride to Engineer!Pride, and some fun text-y ones, too.
( Over the Rainbow... I might be considered sane )

Alright, I think I've uploaded everything, though I haven't actually updated the site. When I do, there will probably be another entry here because I'll have more icons by then because I intend to put up some new brushes as well.

I realize that there haven't been icons in a really long time. I promise that I have been making them in the few moments I've had between projects, finals, and such. All that is over now, so I should get things coded and uploaded any time now. But as a bit of a consolation, if you will, I've put up two new wallpapers, both offered in just about every resolution I could think of. Please keep in mind that the files are fairly large .jpgs, and they were originally designed for a screen that's 1920 x 1200, so things get cut out and rearranged to fit it into, say, 1024 x 768.
